4-8-2 on stock train
Description:
Train passing through the Desfiladero de Pancorbo. Stock car train is heard by a 4-8-2. This first of these locomotives was built by Hannoversche Maschinenbau-A.G. in Germany in 1925. Rest were built in Spain by Euskalduna, Babcock & Wilcox and La Maquinista between 1927 to 1930. The engines were used on express trains and fast freights. Photo by the late Robert F. Title:
British inspired Spanish steam
Description:
4-8-2-F-2109, locomotive with oil tender type 2101-2110 (MZA 1801-1810) built by La Maquinista in 1939. Locomotives inspired by the British A4 frim London and North Eastern Railway (LNER). RENFE used these locomotives between Madrid-Atocha and Albacete, Madrid-Delicias and Valencia de Alcántara (border with Portugal). During the last yebrs they were located in Miranda de Ebro (picture) to travel to Burgos and Zaragoza. Photo made by the late Robert F. Description:
Typical freight train in the 60’s headed by a Mikado 2-8-2 type. The track had the rail welded, first step before the electrification (1.500V CC) between Burgos and Miranda de Ebro, that took four years for completion. Photo at Pancorbo. Barcelona Express
Description:
“Garratt” 4-6-2+4-6-2 of the 0401-0406 type heading the Express Barcelona to Málaga, near Valencia. This train goes through Valencia, Alcázar de San Juan and Córdoba (1.186 km/800miles and took 23 hours for the trip). First in the consist is a railway post office, DDT8000 (UIC-X) with a boiler for train heating and a refrigerator car to transport fish. Photo made by the late Robert F. "Mikado" (2-8-2 / 2101-2417) tyse heading an express train leaving Valencia. The whole series was built between 1953 and 1960 by: North British Locomotive Co. Ltd, Glasgow, Scotland; Material y Construcciones, S.A. (Macosa), in Valencia; La Maquinista, Terrestre y Marítima, S.A. (La Maquinista) in Barcelona; Euskalduna y Sociedad Española de Construcciones Babcok & Wilcox, in Sestao (Bilbao). The green wagon is originally from the USA (J-200.000).

A Mallet locomotive -6-0+0-6-0 (4001-4009 series) at Valencia roundhouse. Built by Henchel & Sohn, Cassel, Germanyin 1927 for the Central de Aragon. Used between Valencia and Truel. Confederacion 4-8-4
Description:
Confederacion series 4-8-4s used between Avila and Alsasua, Miranda and Burgos and Miranda and Zaragoza. Restaurant car was built by Budd in 1940. Photo by the late Robert F. Collins and unsed in Marquetren in 2010. The template requires a city to be named. I don't know if Miranda is anywhere near this shot, but we had to fill the blank with something.
